Caribbean Queen Stephanie Del Valle Wins Miss World 2016. The new Miss World hails from the Caribbean, Miss Puerto Rico Stephanie Del Valle is 19 years old and was crowned the 66th Miss World Sunday night on the 18th of December 2016.

Del Valle is a pre-law and communications student at Pace University in New York City. The stunning model and musician was crowned as this year’s winner in a glitzy star-studded ceremony in Washington DC tonight. She said it was an “honor and a great responsibility” to represent her island on an international stage. The 19-year-old beauty, who is the second Miss World to hail from Puerto Rico, beat 116 contestants from all over the world to win the title.

The first runner-up was also from the Caribbean was Yaritza Miguelina Reyes Ramirez of the Dominican Republic. She was followed by second runner-up Natasha Mannuela from Indonesia, African queen Miss Kenya was one of the top five beauty queens along with Miss Philippines.

Miss World 2015, Mireia Lalaguna of Spain bestowed the iconic crown and sash to Del Valle at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
She had previously won Puerto Rico’s national beauty pageant, Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico 2016. The 5 feet 8 inches stunner said in her entry video to the pageant it was an “honor and a great responsibility” to represent her country in the contest.
