NDEBELE KINGDOM OF SOUTH AFRICA CELEBRATE KING SILAMBA

Ingwenyama Makhosoke II Mabhena of Ndebele kingdom in South Africa recently led his people in the forty-third (43) celebration of King Silamba’s fight against colonialism.

This commemoration takes place every first Saturday of March. It began in 1980.

King Silamba reigned from about 1850s to 1892. His son took over the throne but died in 1896. King Silamba resisted the infiltration of his tribe by Berlin missionaries.
