CHRISTI CORNETTE OF ALTAFIBRE

Christi Cornette of Altafibre is the next superstar in this series of exemplary and inspiring African women. She is Chief Culture officer at Altafibre in the USA.

First and foremost, this post makes her responsible for human resources, brand strategy, employee development, events, sponsorships and of course community involvement. Phew! That is huge. And this genius is up to the task.

How much of a genius is Christi Cornette?

Indeed, Ms Cornette is quite a genius. Already having over thirty years experience in marketing sales and technology under her belt. Back then, when some women were being pushed into “softer” careers, Christi pushed her way into technology. We don’t want to imagine how many bodies of water she swam through just to convince many of us that technology is the new “black gold”.

The beginning :-

To start with, Christi Cornette of Altafibre began her career with tech giant, IBM. She was in their sales, education and engineering department. And working here made her calling clear to her. Marketing gave Christi “the reach”, which Africans sometimes refer to as the grassroot.

The reach :-

Next, is “the reach” who are the real people who make up the working and purchasing figures needed by companies. Through this grassroot marketing, she gradually moved into the marketing of technology. By 2001, she had become Vice-President Marketing at CBTS, the technology solutions giant.

Yet, restless Christi took strides that led her to even higher grounds. After five years as CBTS vice-president and a total of fifteen years with same, she moved on. Cornette left CBTS when Altafibre invited her in 2013. It is in this call to duty that she has deployed all her past experiences, to make Altafibre stand out in today’s competitive telecom industry.

While holding this position, do you know that Ms. Christi Cornette of Altafibre creates time out of no time to be the board of trustees cancer-free kids? Plus time out to mentor Young Women for Leadership Development? And time out to be a mother, grandmother and wife? So many hats, one superhero.

We doff our own hats to this amazing queen. Please drop a heart in the comments section for her.
